Legalman First Class(SW/AW) Tiffany N. Garfield, U.S. Navy
Petty Officer Tiffany N. Garfield was recently selected as the Naval Legal Service Command Sailor of the Quarter for April 2009 through June 2009. Petty Officer Garfield is our first member of the new NFPA Military Paralegal Spotlight.
LN1(SW/AW) Tiffany N. Garfield’s home of record is St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She enlisted in the Navy on 14 August 2000, reporting to USS ESSEX(LHD 2) homeported in Sasebo, Japan as a Fireman. After 2 years onboard ESSEX she attended the Legalman conversion course at Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island.
After becoming a Legalman she was assigned as Trial Paralegal/Court Report at Trial Service Office Southeast in Mayport, Florida beginning her tour there in March 2003. In October 2004 she transferred to Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Charleston, South Carolina as Command Legalman.
In February 2007 she transferred to Region Legal Service Office Japan Yokosuka. She began her tour as Trial Paralegal/Court Reporter, completed an IA to Afghanistan, was assigned at the Commander, Naval Forces Japan Judge Advocates office as the Military Justice Legalman, and is currently the Leading Petty Officer at the Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka Staff Judge Advocate’s Office.
LN1(SW/AW) Garfield is authorized to wear the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award); Navy “E” Ribbon; Good Conduct Medal (2nd award); National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Navy Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Device and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Device.
LN1(SW/AW) Garfield is married to PC1(SW/AW) Garfield currently assigned to USS ESSEX (LHD 2) homeported in Sasebo, Japan.
